Cancer is a general term for a large group of diseases that can affect any part of the body. There are more than 100 types of cancer, and each is classified by the type of cell that is initially affected.

Cancers in females can occur in any part of the body, but some types are more common than others. The most common types of cancer in females are breast cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, and cervical cancer.

There are several different types of breast cancer, but the most common is invasive ductal carcinoma, which starts in the milk ducts and spreads to the surrounding tissue. Other less common types of breast cancer include invasive lobular carcinoma, which starts in the milk glands, and ductal carcinoma in situ, which does not spread beyond the ducts.

Most breast cancers are found in women who are over the age of 50, but younger women can also be diagnosed with the disease. Risk factors for breast cancer include family history, personal history of breast cancer, certain genetic mutations, and increased exposure to estrogen.
